In an editorial entitled "Iran is playing with fire", UAE's Al-Bayan newspaper condemned the Iranian behavior in the Arabian Gulf.

Although many parts and observers confirmed that the increasing tensions, especially regarding the oil tankers, could lead to a war, the Iranian regime seems determined to continue playing with fire.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard attempt to intercept a British oil tanker in the Gulf waters added "fuel" to the fire. Despite Iran's denial of the incident, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's statements prior to the incident indicate that Iran is responsible for intercepting the British oil tanker .

Earlier this month, British Royal Marines seized an Iranian oil tanker in Gibraltar. Meanwhile, Major General Mohammad Baqeri, Iran’s armed forces chief of staff, threatened that the British seizure of the Iranian oil tanker in Gibraltar “will not go unanswered”.

Baqeri said Iran will respond to this move at a “proper time and place”.

The newspaper concluded by saying that the major powers are demanding Iran to "remain calm and exercise restraint, but the Iranian escalation continues, raising many questions, and stressing that the Iranian regime is facing internal crises due to the sanctions.
