Al-Azhar Hails Efforts to End Gaza Bloodshed, Praises Egypt and Qatar for Leading Mediation Initiative

Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, led by Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, praised Allah Almighty for enabling the means to end the killing of the weak and vulnerable in Gaza, expressing deep appreciation for the sincere and tireless efforts exerted to halt the ongoing aggression.

In an official statement, Al-Azhar extended profound gratitude to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, for their dedicated and continued efforts to achieve this vital goal.

Al-Azhar also acknowledged the contributions of former U.S. President Donald Trump, the teams of mediators and negotiators, and all those who supported this humanitarian initiative. The statement further commended the positive response of the Palestinian negotiating factions and their determination to reach an immediate solution to end the aggression.

Grand Imam Al-Tayeb prayed that this initiative would mark a step toward restoring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, establishing their independent state with Al-Quds Ash-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital, and securing for them a life of stability and dignity. He concluded with a call for peace to prevail among all peoples of the region and the world.
