Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, met Monday with Dr. Volker Kauder, Professor of Ethics, Politics, and Religious Freedom at the Free Theological University of Giessen, Germany, to discuss ways to strengthen interfaith dialogue and reinforce the principles of human fraternity.
Al-Tayeb stressed that the Document on Human Fraternity “was written in the voice of humanity before being written in the voice of religions,” reaffirming Al-Azhar’s openness to cooperation with global religious institutions to advance a just peace that safeguards human dignity.
Kauder commended the Grand Imam’s leadership in promoting tolerance, positive coexistence, and the values of global peace, praising the impact of his efforts on international dialogue and mutual understanding.
