Al-Azhar Condemns Israeli Officials' Al-Aqsa Incursions, Reaffirms Mosque's Islamic Status

Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif strongly condemns the repeated incursions by officials of the Israeli occupation authorities into Al-Aqsa Mosque, accompanied by thousands of extremist settlers under the protection of the occupation forces, and the performance of provocative religious rituals within its precincts. Al-Azhar affirms that these repeated criminal acts constitute a flagrant violation of the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and a grave affront to the feelings of Muslims around the world.

Al-Azhar warns that the continuation of these systematic violations threatens to further inflame the conflict and undermine efforts to restore calm in the region. It stresses that attempts to Judaize Jerusalem and impose a fait accompli will not alter the fact that Al-Aqsa Mosque, in its entirety, is an exclusive Islamic Waqf and will forever stand as a testament to the Islamic identity of the sacred sites and the Arab identity of Jerusalem.

Al-Azhar calls upon the international community and the United Nations Security Council to shoulder their responsibilities by taking urgent action to put an end to these repeated Israeli violations against the sacred sites in occupied Jerusalem and to compel the occupation authorities to comply with the relevant international resolutions.

Al-Azhar prays to Almighty Allah to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque, grant victory to those who remain steadfast in its defense, spare the blood of the Palestinian people, and bless our Ummah with security and stability.
