Al-Azhar Condemns Heinous Violations Against Civilians in Al-Fashir

Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif strongly condemns the horrific violations and crimes being committed against innocent civilians in the city of Al-Fashir, Sudan, including killing, shelling, starvation, and deprivation of medical and humanitarian services, acts that constitute a flagrant violation of all human values, religious principles, and international conventions.

Al-Azhar calls upon the wise and honorable people of Sudan, as well as the sages and peace-loving figures of the world, to intervene immediately and mediate to stop these massacres, crimes, and violations perpetrated against the Sudanese people. 

Al-Azhar stresses the necessity of giving precedence to reason and wisdom, upholding Sudan’s higher national interests, preserving its unity, halting the bloodshed of innocent people, and putting an end to the violence that is claiming innocent lives and tearing apart the fabric of the nation.

Al-Azhar reminds the aggressors that those they are killing are their own brothers, fellow Sudanese who share their faith, homeland, and lineage, and that being drawn into conflicts fueled by malicious political interests will only bring more killing, endless rivers of blood, backwardness, poverty, hatred, and extremism. Such strife serves only external agendas that seek to weaken this dear country, plunder its resources, and keep it trapped in a cycle of endless crises.

Al-Azhar affirms its readiness to dispatch urgent humanitarian relief convoys to Sudan to help alleviate the deteriorating humanitarian situation. 

It also calls upon the international community to shoulder its moral and humanitarian responsibilities, to act immediately to stop these violations, to protect innocent civilians, to facilitate the delivery of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid, and to work toward a complete and lasting cessation of hostilities and violence, restoring peace and stability across Sudan.

Al-Azhar earnestly prays that Almighty Allah protect Sudan, spare it from division and discord, bestow tranquility upon its people, safeguard them with His protection, and replace their fear with peace, comfort, and security.
