Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayyeb, expressed his support for Syria, due to the crises the state is going through and urged the Arab nations to help.
Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Tayyeb said: "Our hearts are burning for what Syria is going through, and the devastation that befell it. I call on the Arab nations and the whole world to give a hand for Syria and its grieving people. Oh God, allow this country to rise after its fall and provide its people with security, safety, and stability."
Syria witnessed huge fires that swept through large areas of the western part of the country and covered large zones, from north, on the Turkish border, down to the Lebanese territory.
The fire broke out in the governorates of Homs, Tartous and Latakia, destroying hundreds of hectares of forests in the coastal regions and several mountainous areas in the countryside of the provinces.
