Al-Azhar calls for an end to the conflict and fighting in the Sudan

Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif expresses deep sorrow over the acts of violence witnessed in ‎Darfur, western Sudan, which have resulted in the killing and injury of innocent civilians, and ‎forced hundreds of families to leave their homes and flee for their lives, escaping the ‎scourge of conflicts. It also calls on the Lord, Almighty, to protect the Sudanese people, ‎to bring them together, to expedite the end of this tragedy, and to bless the Sudan with ‎security, safety, wellbeing, and stability.‎

Al-Azhar also calls on the Sudanese leaders and sages and the rest of the good ‎Sudanese people to prioritize the interests of their country, to resort to the voice of ‎reason and wisdom, to return to the dialogue table, and to end disputes and conflicts ‎that can only result in more killing and destruction.‎

Moreover, Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif calls on all international relief organizations and bodies ‎to run urgent relief convoys to the conflict-affected regions in the Sudan.‎
