Syrian President Bashar Al Assad visited Today, Tuesday, Ballouran area in Lattakia northern countryside to inspect the damage and meet the residents within a tour on some areas which were affected by the fires few days ago, according to State news agency SANA.

Al-Assad listened to the requirements of the locals of Ballouran village to secure their basic needs which help in enhancing the factors of their adherence to their lands and re-cultivating them as soon as possible.

On other hand, Ministers of Local Administration and Agriculture and Agrarian Reforms and Lattakia Governor accompanied President al-Assad in his tour.

According to SANA, the wildfires broke out in several Middle Eastern countries last week amid a heatwave that is unusual for this time of the year, leaving Syria particularly hard-hit.

Moreover, three people were killed in the bushfires that also burned wide areas of forests, mostly in Latakia and the central province of Homs.

Noteworthy, Al Assad’s public visits to areas around Syria have been rare since the country’s conflict began in March 2011. The conflict has killed nearly 400,000 and displaced half of Syria’s population including more than five million who became refugees, mostly in neighbouring countries.
