The President of the AP stressed the rejection of all attempts by the occupying power to compromise this Hashemite guardianship, which was reaffirmed by the agreement signed between His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and Hon. President Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, on 13/03/2013, commended the Jordanian role in the care, protection, and maintenance of Islamic and Christian holy places in Jerusalem, represented by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs with all its facilities, within the framework of the keenness of Jordan and its people, headed by His Majesty the King, to care for reconstruction and restoration in Jerusalem and its sanctities to preserve the historical Arab-Islamic identity of this city.

He also expressed support for the role of Jordan’s Jerusalem Endowment Administration and Al-Aqsa Mosque in maintaining the Temple Mount against violations and aggression by the occupying power, as the sole and exclusive legal authority in the administration of all affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Temple Mount.

AlAsoomi called on the international community to respect the international conventions related to the Hashemite guardianship of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic holy places in Jerusalem.
