Dr. Khalil al-Daqran, the official spokesperson for Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, confirmed the severe suffering within the health sector in the Gaza Strip, resulting from Israeli obstruction of the entry of medicines and medical supplies necessary for the health system there. He pointed out that the wounded and sick who require treatment abroad are living in extremely difficult conditions.

Dr. al-Daqran explained that more than 20,000 wounded and sick Palestinians urgently need treatment outside Gaza, including 4,500 children and 5,000 cancer patients. He noted that some of the wounded require complex surgeries after being injured in Israeli bombings of civilians in Gaza.

He pointed out that more than 1,500 wounded and injured people have died as a result of waiting for more than two years without receiving the necessary treatment outside Gaza, warning of what he described as the continued Israeli "procrastination" in evacuating the wounded and injured, which will lead to an increase in the number of deaths, given the small number that Israel allows to leave for treatment outside Gaza before the closure of the Rafah land crossing, where it allows only 20 patients to leave daily to receive treatment abroad, noting that the Israeli behavior threatens the lives of hundreds of wounded and injured people.
