Al-Anani Receives Marriott's President to Discuss Tourism Related Issues

Egyptian Minister of Tourism Khaled Al-Anani received Satya Anand, President of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Marriott International, at the Ministry's headquarters in Zamalek, to discuss a number of issues related to the tourism sector.

Anand started the meeting by reviewing the company's policy, with regard to expanding the establishment of hotels in general, providing his current approach to establish three and four-star hotels to address all groups in society.

He also explained the training program concerning the hospitality management, which the company is implementing in Egypt, aiming at creating competencies from the local community.

The company’s goal is training students, and adopting a leadership approaches in the hospitality industry, then, handing the leadership of the hotel to the graduates.

At the end of the meeting, he emphasized that Egypt has many tourist, archaeological and natural potentials, affirming that he will surly pay a visit to these tourist destinations during his stay in Egypt.

On his part, Al-Anani welcomed the idea of establishing hotels by the company, noting that within the framework of the state’s policy to develop the tourism infrastructure in new cities, more hotel amenities could be established in a number of tourist attractions such as Aswan, the North Coast, and the New Alamein City.
