Prominent TV anchor Saif Zaher announced on Tuesday that Al Ahly's first choice goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy tested positive for coronavirus.
"The coronavirus swab, which has been taken from El Shenawy showed that he contracted coronavirus," Zaher said.
He also added that the Egyptian goalkeeper will not be able to take part in Cairo's derby against Zamalek on Sunday in the Egyptian League.
It is worth mentioning that the Red Devils managed qualified for the CAF Champions League after they placed second in their group.
Al Ahly will face Al Nasr in the 32nd round of Egypt Cup.
