Sources confirmed on Wednesday that Al Ahly have named former Mamelodi Sundowns' head coach Pitso Mosimane as a new manager, succeeding Rene Weiler.
Sources and reports also said that Mosimane will land in Cairo on Friday to start his adventure with the Red Devils, as his coaching staff will include three of his assistants.
It is worth mentioning that the future of the current coach of Al Ahly Rene Weiler became unknown as the Red Devils' board of directors will take their final decision by tomorrow.
Earlier today, Mosimane resigned from leading Mamelodi Sundowns after he guided them to claim the league title.
South African newspaper "Times," confirmed that the 56-year-old decided to leave the club as speculations have raised about his talks with Al Ahly to lead the Red Devils in the upcoming period.
Times also noted that Al Ahly president Mahmoud El-Khatib is is a huge fan of Mosimane.
"Al Ahly president Mohmoud El Khatib is a huge fan of Mosimane and was among the first to send his congratulations when Jingles led the Brazilians to a domestic treble success by adding the Nedbank Cup to the Telkom Knockout and Absa Premiership titles they'd already won earlier," Times reported.
Mosimane managed to guide the Brazilians to claim five South African League title, in addition to, the CAF Champions League title in 2016.
