Record-holders Al Ahly have officially requested foreign referees for the remainder of their Egyptian Premier League games.
Al Ahly are currently second on the league table, one point behind Zamalek but with two games in hand.
So far, the Reds have won ten of their 12 clashes, while falling to a draw once and suffering one defeat.
Despite the positive results, the African champions have officially requested foreign referees for their league games as they believe refereeing mistakes have affected their results.
“We are asking the Egyptian Football Association to take major steps with the aim to improve Egyptian refereeing,” the statement said.
“Hiring a refereeing expert to provide insights and give lectures could help Egyptian referees improve.
