Egyptian Giants Al Ahly have moved closer to lift their 5th consecutive Egyptian Premier League and their 42nd overall after thrashing Ismaily with three unanswered goals as the Red Devils need only to secure one more victory to be announced as the champions.

Egypt's champions started the game so fiercely as early as after only two minute when Ali Maaloul converted from a penalty spot to open the scoring for the Red Devils.

Osama Ibrahim came close to equalising the scoring when he unleashed a powerful shot from the outside of the box to the top of the bar.

Isamily have earned a penalty in the 45th minute after the referee consulted the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), but omer Al Wahesh wasted it.

Aliou Badji doubled the scoring in the 65th minute, when he received a well-played pass inside the box, firing a left-foot shot past Ismaily's goalkeeper.

Six minutes later, Ahmed Al Sheikh netted the third by a great follow-up to the ball, making use of Isamily's goalkeeper mistake.

Al Ahly now top the League table with 71 points, and will take on Al Ithad on Monday, while Isamily get back to the 10th spot with 30 points.
