The chairman of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) Ahmed Megahd said on Tuesday that Egypt's security forces refused to allow fans to attend Al Ahly, ES Tunis' second leg in the CAF Champions League (CL) semi-final.
The Red Devils are set to host the Tunisian club in the second leg at Al Salam Stadium as the African champion secured a 1-0 win over the four-time African Champions on Saturday's match, held in Tunisia.
"We delivered Al Ahly's request to the security officials regarding allowing the fans to attend ES Tunis match, but they refused to do so," Megahd said in statements to On Time Sports.
"We told Al Ahly with the security forces position regarding this matter," he added.
He also concluded that if the security officials have seen that the circumstances is good for fans to attend, they would have decided to do so.
