Egyptian giants Al Ahly reached the CAF Champions League (CL) semifinals for the first time since 2017 despite holding a 1-1 draw against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
The Red Devils qualified with an aggregate 3-1 victory having won the first leg 2-0 in Cairo last weekend.
Maboe's own goal had given the Red Devils the lead after only 21 minutes when Ali Maaloul lifted the ball from a free-kick into Sundowns' penalty area, where Maboe turned the ball into his own net in attempt to clear the ball.
Six minutes later, the Brazilian Sirino leveled the scoring after Gaston Sirino pounced on a rebound from close range with a tap-in after El Shenawy made a brilliant save to Themba Zwane's initial shot.
Badji came close to put his side ahead once again in the 45th minutes when he received an excellent pass from El Soulia, but he strangely wasted the chance.
The Red Devils are set to face either Wydad or Etoile du Sahel in the semi-finals.
