Ain Shams Univ. Scoops Design Contest's Prizes in New Administrative Capital

Dr. Hossam Elborombaly, Professor and Former Head of the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, said that the university has occupied the 1st position and received 'Encouragement Prizes' in the design competition of squares and elements of roadblocks in the New Administrative Capital.

Elborombaly told to 'SEE', that the competition was presented to 100 contestants who were assembled in teams of universities and companies. Ain Shams University then presented two teams: first team under the name of Dr. Ghada Farouk Hassan, one of its members; it consisted of 19 members of the teaching staff, and the second team consisted of 18 members also, noting that the teams that took part in the competition were called by their names, not universities.

The architect pointed out that the competition was under the supervision of General Staff of the war Ahmed Abidin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the capital, and Mohammed Abu Saada, Chairman of the Council of the Coordination of Civilization, and a panel of judges of university professors from the faculties of Engineering and Fine Arts and specialists in this area, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, Dr. Ahmed Sherif, Head of Department of Architecture American University, Dr. Ahmed Atta, Professor of Interior Architecture, Faculty of Applied Arts, Helwan University, Major General Ashraf Fatin, Representative of the Administrative Capital Company for Urban Development, Dr. Sahar Attia, Director of National Coordination for Civilization, Engineer Shehab Mazher, consultant coordination sites, Eng. Mohamed Abu Saada head of the National Agency for the Coordination of civilization, Adam Haneen, and Dr. Mohamed El Allawi, Professor of Sculpture, Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University.

He was awarded the first prize worth 350,000 L.E for each team by Dr. Ghada Farouk Hassan and the team; Dr. Waleed Abdul Hadi and the team, and received certificates of appreciation by Dr. Mohammed Abu Ela and his team, and Engineer Hazem El-Borai and his team, The team was awarded the prize of EGP 75,000 L.E by Hani Khalil and the team, Ibrahim Jamal and his team, Du'aa Kamal El Din Hassan and the work team. The third prize was awarded by the Engineer Mustafa Fahim Jaber and the team.
