Ain Shams University President Mahmoud Al Mateny announced that Ain Shams uni" has achieved unprecedented progress after being ranked 1st among Egyptian universities, according to Nature Index ranking for the period from August 2018-July 2019.
Moreover, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President of Ain Shams Uni for Education and Student Affairs said that this classification is based on four standards, namely:
1-Number of research articles.
2-The relative contribution of each researcher to a particular article.
3-Cooperation in the production of research or article.
4-Number of participated researchers.
He also pointed out that this classification shows the Ain Shams university’s scientific research system great superiority, stressing that Egypt is ranked 2nd in this classification at the African level.

On the same vein. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, said that about 22 Egyptian universities have entered the world rankings, pointing out to 150 of the best global programs in agriculture, engineering, and technology.
Addressing a seminar entitled “Accreditation or international classification, whichever is more important", held by the American University in Cairo (AUC), Abdel Ghaffar added that the universities' global rankings have turned to psychological and material pressure.
The minister pointed out that many universities have a technology campus that provides researchers with a favorable climate for scientific research, in addition to the presence of foreign universities branches in Egypt.
