Aida El-Ayoubi to Hold Concert at Opera House

Singer Aida El-Ayoubi will perform on 18 May, as part of the Cairo Opera House special programme celebrating the Holy Month.

El Ayoubi is known for performing religious songs such as "Fe Eshkellah" and other Sufi recitals.

Noteworthy, she launched three albums before going into a career hiatus after having her first-born child. She became famous in Egypt and many other Arab countries for her romantic music and her soft voice.

She is best known for her hit song "A'ala Baly" which appeared on her first album. Aida's heartfelt lyrics and beautiful soothing voice were the keys to her success.

El Ayoubi has collaborated with many singers and poets throughout her artistic career, including late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish, composer Marcel Khalife, singer Hisham Abbas, and composer Salah El Sharnoubi.

In 2011, she joined the band Cairokee for their hit song Ya El-Midan, a nostalgic favourite among many revolutionaries.

She is a graduate of American University in Cairo where she majored in computer science.
