Egyptian actor Ahmed Ezz announced Wednesday that he will not participate in Ramadan 2022 drama marathon.

He made the announcement during the special screening of his new film “El Aref” at a cinema in the Fifth Settlement.

“I am not accustomed to participating annually in the Ramadan marathon,” he added.

Ezz had recently denied the claims about him starring in the third season of the TV series “El Ekhteyar” and the sequel to his 2021 TV series “Hagma Mortada”.

“I don’t know anything about a “Hagma Mortada 2” or “El Ekhteyar 3”. I star in a TV series every four years. I am not the kind of star who would like to be present every Ramadan.” he noted.

Ezz will next appear in the highly-anticipated film “Kira & El Gin”.

The film also stars Karim Abdel Aziz, Ruby, Hend Sabry, Sayed Ragab, Ahmed Malek, Huda El Mufti, and others.

It is produced by Synergy films and based on the novel “1919” by Ahmed Mourad.

The film is an information-packed historical fiction set to the actual events of a significant era in Egypt’s history. It also recounts the role of the Egyptian uprising against Britain’s occupation of Egypt, during the 1919 revolution, through the lives of perse characters that include famous and obscure historical figures as well as fictional characters.
