Ahly Secure Bronze Medal After Defeating Palmeiras in Club World Cup

Ahly reserved the third place to win the bronze medal in the FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar after defeating the Brazilian Palmeiras team in a penalty shootout, ), following a goalless draw, with a score of 3-2.

The match brought the two teams together Thursday evening at the Education City stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha.

Al Ahly faced Brazilian giants Palmeiras in the third and fourth place playoff at the 2021 FIFA Club World Cup.

Pitso Mosimane’s of Al Ahly will walk away with R37 million after the big victory this afternoon over Palmeiras.

The Red Devils' chances were almost achieved in the 68' minute, as Ajayi scored the goal, but it was canceled due to offside.

The match was in the balance in the final minutes, as the two teams were looking to steal the win but, lacked the finishing touches and the match went straight to a penalty shootout.

Ahly were defeated 2-0 from European giants Bayern Munich in the semi-finals following their quarterfinal victory over FIFA Club World Cup hosts Al Duhail.
