Egypt’s Federation of Chambers of Commerce announced that this year’s “Ahlan Ramadan” initiative is providing essential goods at discounts of up to 25% through more than 3,000 outlets nationwide.

Alaa Ezz, Secretary-General of the Federation, said the initiative aims to ensure the availability of basic and strategic commodities to citizens at locations close to their residences, with discounts ranging between 15% and 25% depending on the product.

He noted that this year’s campaign reflects full partnership between the government and the private sector under the patronage of the Prime Minister, with active participation from the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade.

According to Ezz, the initiative has expanded to include more than 3,000 outlets, tents, and exhibitions across all governorates, ensuring easy access to discounted goods for citizens.

He added that the Minister of Supply has directed the provision of poultry at a price of EGP 100 per kilogram, a move that has contributed significantly to stabilizing market prices.

The initiative covers all governorates, from Marsa Matrouh in the northwest to Halayeb, Shalateen, and Arish in the east, ensuring the distribution of discounted goods across the country.

Regarding market regulation, Ezz explained that the initiative is built on integrated cooperation between government bodies and the private sector. Governorates provide spaces for outlets and exhibitions, while the state covers essential utilities such as electricity and security. The chambers of commerce are responsible for establishing and managing the sales points.

The annual “Ahlan Ramadan” campaign is part of broader efforts to ease financial burdens on citizens ahead of the holy month by ensuring stable supplies and competitive prices.
