"Ahlan Ramadan" Festival Launched by Min. of Culture Ines Abdel-Dayem

Egypt's Minister of Culture, Ines Abdel-Dayem, attended the opening ceremony of "Ahlan Ramadan" festival to encourage children to participate in cultural and art activities.

The event that took place at the Children's Culture Garden in Al-Sayeda Zainab district featured marvelous musical and spiritual chanting performances in addition to a drawing exhibition.

The minister also took this occasion to felicitate the winners of a children's drawing competition, entitled "Cairo in the Eyes of the Children of the Islamic world," organized by the Ministry of Culture under the theme of "Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2022."

The celebration included various artistic events, such as creative concerts for religious and spiritual chanting, an exhibition of reproductions of children's pictures of Egypt's mosques, "consisting of pictures of a large group of mosques" dating back to 1920, a heritage competition in photography, an "exceptional session" about the countries of the Islamic world, and a lyrical performance of the operetta "Ahln Ramdan."

Moreover, the celebration of Ahlan Ramadan presented a theatrical show consisting of a collage of the most important folkloric works that delight the audience, including works such as "Ramdan Gana" and "El-Sira el Helalya."

It's worth mentioning that the Ahlan Ramdan program coincided with the Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2022 celebrations.
