Emirati singer Ahlam on Saturday slammed French President Emmanuel Macron for insulting Prophet Muhammad and the Islamic religion.

She expressed her outrage in a series of tweets on Twitter, which included a picture of Macron who appeared with traces of shoes on his face.

"Anyone but the Messenger of God," she stressed.

On October 21, Macron criticized Islamists and vowed not to "give up cartoons" depicting the Prophet Muhammad.

Macron stated that a French teacher beheaded outside his school outside Paris earlier this month "was killed because Islamists want our future."

"We will not give up cartoons. Islamists will never have France's future," the French President declared.

Macron's comments came in response to the beheading of history teacher Samuel Paty, who was beheaded by a man angered at his decision to share controversial caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad with his class earlier this month.

In response to Macron's comments, there have been many calls to boycott French goods in the Arab world, and beyond.

On Saturday, about 200 people protested outside the residence of France's ambassador to Israel against Macron. The demonstration was held in the largely-Arab district of Jaffa in Tel Aviv, after evening prayers.

In a new audacity, French magazine Charlie Hebdo republished months ago controversial insulting cartoons about Prophet Muhammad.

The Prophet Muhammad is the most sacred thing in Islam. Visual representation of the prophets is strictly forbidden in Islam and to ridicule or insult the Prophet Muhammad is punishable by death in some Muslim countries.
