Ahead of AFCON, Morocco Loses 2nd Friendly

Ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco were defeated (2-3) by Zambia in their last friendly.

Musonda Mwape gave Copper Bullets the lead after he managed to score a goal in the first minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Hakim Ziyech scored the equalizer for the Atlas Lions.

Before the end of the first half-time, Zambia scored their 2nd goal, while Ziyech equalized again for Morocco in the 55th minute, then Enock Mwepu, Zambian midfielder secured Copper Bullets' victory by adding the third goal in the 75th min.

Earlier on, the Lions were defeated (1-0) from Gambia in their first friendly match.

The one-time title holders, drawn in group D alongside Ivory Coast, South Africa, and Namibia, will fly to Egypt on Tuesday, June 18 to participate in the upcoming showpiece tournament.

It is worth mentioning that Morocco will begin their mission against Namibia at Al Salam Stadium on Sunday, June 23 at 16:30 pm CLT.
