Ahead of AFCON, Algerian Team Touches down in Egypt

Two days before the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, Algerian National team landed in Egypt on Wednesday to take part in the upcoming showpiece tournament, which will run from June 21 to 19 July.

General Ahmed Genina, Chairman of the Airports Holding Company, and Chairman of Cairo Airport Company Ahmed Fawzy received the Desert Warriors at lounge 4 of Cairo International Airport, which has been allocated to receive the national teams participating in the AFCON.

Cairo airport continues to receive the national teams which will participate in this tournament, in addition to the delegations and fans who are willing to support their national football teams.

The one-time title holders, who were picked in group C alongside Senegal, Kenya, and Tanzania, will play their first match against Kenya on June 23 at 10:00 CLT at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium.

They played two friendly games during their preparatory camp against Burundi and Mali. The Arab team was held a 1-1 draw in their first friendly game against Burundi, while they managed to secure victory in their second warm-up match against Mali (3-2).

On June 1, Algerian coach Djamel Belmadi announced his 23- man squad for the upcoming Afcon.
