Javier Aguirre, head coach of the Egyptian national team said on Monday that he settled on the eleven players who will start against Zimbabwe in the opening match of the 2019 AFCON.

The Pharaohs will play against Warriors at Cairo Stadium on Friday, 21 June at 22:00 CLT.

"Egypt had a number of scoring chances during their last warm-up match against Guinea. The National Elephants' goal came from a normal mistake, which usually happens in football," Aguirre stated after the match.

"We had about twelve scoring chances in our first warm-up game against Tanzania, and we also had many chances during today's game against Guinea," he added.

"The Pharaohs' friendlies against Tanzania and Guinea were good enough for our preparations for the tournament, " the Mexican coach remarked.

It is worth mentioning that Liverpool' star Mohamed Salah led Egypt to secure their Victory against Guinea (3-1). Marwan Mohsen opened the scoring in the 11th minute after blasting the goal into the nets of the guests, in one of the best goals of the year.
