The second round of court trials for the Islamist, Tariq Ramadan, started Thursday over rape accusations.
Ramadan was accused of raping four women in France not to mention the other woman who accused him of raping her back in 2008 in Switzerland.
“It's an important step, it's going to be a long, intense, trying day. Our client is nonetheless serene and confident, she is only telling the truth ”, indicated on her arrival shortly before 9:30 am in court Me Robert Assael, one of the Swiss lawyers of the plaintiff, nicknamed in the media“ Brigitte ”.
Ramadan’s lawyer confirmed that his client is also calm and confident, unlike the other side.
He announced this morning on his Twitter account that he won the case in Switzerland after the September 16th confrontations that proved the rape allegations’ are in fact not true
“Bridget” filed her rape lawsuit in Switzerland back on April 13th, 2018. She accused him of leading her into a hotel room in Geneva on October 28th, 2008 where he sexually and vocally assaulted her.
“Bridget” said that she converted to Islam a few months after she met Ramadan twice in a book signing and in a conference earlier in September. They then went to talk on social media and on the day of the assault she was supposed to meet Ramadan for tea.
The Islamist scholar confirmed that he met “Bridget”. However, he denied having any sexual relations with her.
