Afshin Alavi, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), stated that the death of the executioner Khamenei represents the inevitable end of the era of religious tyranny, emphasizing that the Iranian people and their Resistance Units are the ones who will shape the features of the new dawn in Tehran.
Alavi said in an interview with international media: "The absence of the executioner Khamenei from the scene after decades of oppression has placed the Velayat-e Faqih regime in a state of complete disintegration. Despite the military shocks the regime has faced during this ongoing war, we emphasize that the final and fatal blow to this autocracy will only be delivered from within, by the hands of the Iranian people who reject guardianship in all its forms."
He added: "The National Council of Resistance of Iran has officially announced the activation of the Provisional Government as a strategic step to transfer sovereignty to its rightful owners. This government, based on Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s 10-point plan, will manage the transitional phase for a maximum period of only six months, ending with the organization of free elections that allow the people to choose their representatives in a Constituent Assembly to draft the constitution of the new democratic republic."
Alavi continued: "The Iranian Resistance possesses a striking field force represented by the Resistance Units, which shake the regime's strongholds daily. We have revealed that 250 members of these units carried out a bold attack on Khamenei's fortified headquarters shortly before the outbreak of the war. Recently, these units also carried out 30 coordinated offensive operations targeting centers of repression in more than 20 Iranian cities, confirming their readiness to impose the people's will on the ground."
Explaining the Resistance's position on attempts to circumvent the revolution, Alavi said: "Our slogan was and remains: No to the Shah's regime, no to the Mullahs' regime. Attempts to reproduce a hereditary dictatorship are rejected in their entirety. The people, who have offered more than 100,000 martyrs from the members and supporters of the MEK, will not accept a dictator who grants himself absolute powers and seeks to revive the notorious SAVAK repressive apparatus under the name of SAVAMA."
He stressed: "Any project aimed at extending the transitional period for years or imposing martial law, as proposed by the son of the deposed Shah, is a recipe for chaos and civil war. True democratic change requires the dissolution of the IRGC and all repressive apparatuses, and the establishment of a secular system that guarantees total equality between men and women, ends the death penalty, and builds a non-nuclear Iran."
Alavi concluded his statement by saying: "The era of religious tyranny has effectively ended with the death of its tyrant. The Iranian Resistance, through the Provisional Government and the Resistance Units, is the only guarantee to prevent the country from sliding into fragmentation and to achieve the Iranian people's dream of the sovereignty of the public and the building of a state of law and justice."
