Afshar: Execution of Hamed Validi and Nima Shahi Reflects the Mullahs’ Regime’s Terror of Imminent Collapse Facing Resistance Units’ Strikes

Mousa Afshar, a member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), stated today that the Mullahs' regime's execution of two heroic Mojahedin members, Hamed Validi and Nima Shahi, at dawn on Monday, April 20, in Karaj Central Prison, represents another brutal crime. This act is a desperate attempt to terrorize Iranian society amidst the accelerating collapse of the pillars of the Velayat-e Faqih regime.

Afshar said: "The execution of civil engineer Hamed Validi (45) and technical worker Nima Shahi (38) on charges of belonging to the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) comes at a time when the regime is reeling under the weight of the external war and following the death of the tyrant Ali Khamenei. This proves that the Mullahs find no escape from their inevitable downfall except by resorting to the gallows."

He added: "The two heroes were arrested on May 13, 2025, and subjected to the most heinous forms of torture. The Mullahs' judiciary leveled baseless espionage charges against them related to the 'Twelve-Day War,' even though their arrest preceded the outbreak of that war by a full month. This confirms the falsity of the charges and the regime's systematic targeting of anyone belonging to the organized resistance."

Afshar continued: "This criminal regime has executed eight members of the PMOI since March 30. Among those martyred, 6 members of the PMOI (MEK) were executed in a recent wave, including Vahid Bani Amerian and Abolhassan Montazer, along with Pouya Ghobadi, Akbar Daneshvarkar, Mohammad Taghavi, and Babak Alipour. These pure souls will only increase the resolve of the Iranian people and the Resistance Units to sweep this regime from our country’s history."

He explained: "While the external war is destroying the regime's military machine, the Resistance Units inside the country continue their strategic operations and are on high alert to topple the remnants of this crumbling authority. This aligns with Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s announcement of the formation of the Provisional Government, based on the 10-point plan, to transition full sovereignty to the Iranian people."

Afshar emphasized: "We call upon the United Nations, the European Union, and all international and human rights organizations to categorically condemn these successive executions and to take immediate action to stop the killing machine and save the political prisoners who face the risk of death in the regime's dungeons."

Afshar concluded: "The era of religious tyranny has ended. The blood of Hamed and Nima is the fuel for the democratic revolution that will establish a free and peaceful republic, putting an end to centuries of oppression and wars, and achieving the aspirations of Iranians for a bright tomorrow."
