African Disease Centers: Coronavirus Infects 3.85 million People Across the Continent

The African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention affiliated with the African Union  (AU) confirmed that the Coronavirus has infected 3.85 million people across the continent.

The center pointed out that the recovery numbers reached 3.4 million cases.

The statistical data of the African Centers showed, today, Tuesday, that the member states of the African Union have so far reported 101,600 deaths.

The African Union had confirmed that the "Corona" pandemic is not only a serious health emergency but also a serious economic and social crisis.

It is noteworthy that the African Center for Disease Control and Prevention supports all African countries to improve surveillance, emergency response, and prevention of infectious diseases, including addressing the spread of pandemics and natural and human disasters, as well as seeking to build capacity to reduce the burden of disease on the continent.

On the other hand, the European Union (EU) announced the provision of 100 million Euros to support the vaccination process in Africa, according to what Al-Arabiya TV reported in flash news to it a short while ago.

The EU said it is looking into producing vaccines in African factories that obtain a developer license.

However, the World Health Organization (WHO) figures showed that the number of new cases of Coronavirus decreased by 16% worldwide last week to 2.7 million, and it represents the fifth consecutive week, as infections decreased after they reached a peak of more than 5 million in the week ending on January 4, Corona deaths are also on the decline.

According to a report by the British newspaper "Daily Mail", the infection decreased as quickly as possible in Africa and the Western Pacific (down 20%), followed by Europe (18%), the Americas (16%), and Southeast Asia (13%), and Myanmar was the country that has already experienced The largest decrease in the number of cases, followed by Thailand and Sierra Leone.
