US President Joe Biden said on Wednesday that the upcoming summit between the US and the African leaders will represent the US commitment to Africa.

He expressed in a statement, "I look forward to hosting leaders from across the African continent in Washington," adding: "The Summit will demonstrate the United States’ enduring commitment to Africa, and will underscore the importance of U.S.-Africa relations and increased cooperation on shared global priorities."

It will be held in Washington DC between December 13 and 15 and will tackle different issues like human rights, the aftermath of Coronavirus, and democracy.

Biden said: "The U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit will build on our shared values to better foster new economic engagement; reinforce the U.S.-Africa commitment to democracy and human rights; mitigate the impact of COVID-19 and of future pandemics; work collaboratively to strengthen regional and global health; promote food security; advance peace and security; respond to the climate crisis; and amplify diaspora ties."

He added: "I look forward to working with African governments, civil society, diaspora communities across the United States, and the private sector to continue strengthening our shared vision for the future of U.S.-Africa relations."

It is worthy to mention that the White House announced that President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and his US counterpart, Joe Biden, expressed, during their meeting on the sidelines of the Jeddah Security and Development Summit, their intention to meet again in the near future to strengthen the multi-faceted partnership between the two countries.

The white House said in a statement that US President Biden met with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to reaffirm their shared commitment to the U.S.-Egypt strategic partnership, consult on a broad range of global and regional security challenges, and advance the U.S.-Egypt relationship.
