The Africa Prosperity Network has extended its best wishes to the ten African nations taking part in the FIFA World Cup 2026, calling on the continent to unite behind its teams as they compete on football’s biggest global stage.

In a statement issued from Accra on 11 June 2026, the organisation named Algeria, Cape Verde, Côte d'Ivoire, DR Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia as the African countries carrying the hopes of the continent into the tournament.

The Africa Prosperity Network said the World Cup offers a powerful moment for continental solidarity, noting that while the teams will wear different colours and represent different national flags, they are united by a shared African identity and common destiny.

“From Cairo to Cape Town, from Dakar to Kinshasa, from Accra to Tunis, from Abidjan to Praia, millions of Africans will be cheering not just for their own countries, but for Africa,” the statement said.

The organisation added that African support stretches across more than 1.5 billion people on the continent and in the diaspora, describing the tournament as a reminder that Africa’s aspirations, history and future successes are deeply connected despite geographical borders.

According to the Africa Prosperity Network, football provides an opportunity to demonstrate unity, solidarity and mutual support among African nations. The organisation said Africa’s greatest victories would come when countries see one another not as rivals, but as partners pursuing a shared future.

It called on every African team to compete with courage, pride and excellence, while inspiring a new generation across the continent to believe in the power of talent, determination and unity.

The statement also urged Africans to celebrate the progress of any African team as a collective achievement for the entire continent.

“When one African team scores, let Africa celebrate. When one African team advances, let Africa rejoice. For a victory for one is a victory for all,” the statement said.
