Afghanistan's Acting Foreign Minister (FM) Amir Khan Mottaki and Pakistan's Army Chief of Staff Asim Munir, discussed, on Sunday, issues of regional security and Afghan refugee affairs in Pakistan.
During their meeting, both officials discussed issues of regional security, ways to facilitate the movement of people between the two countries and the conditions of Afghan refugees in Pakistan, according to the deputy spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hafiz Zia Ahmed.
On his part, Munir underlined the importance of cqooperation between the two countries to "effectively" address the common challenges of terrorism and extremism.
The two sides also discussed another major issue related to Afghan refugees in Pakistan.
They also discussed the formalization of bilateral security agreements to enhance border management and regional security.
The Pakistani army chief reiterated Islamabad's commitment to a stable, peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan.
It is noteworthy that the Acting Afghan Foreign Minister (FM) held meetings with Pakistani political leaders and sheikhs.
