The daughter of Afghanistan’s exiled President Ashraf Ghani was spotted strolling around New York City as the Afghanistan-Taliban crisis in Kabul continue, Fox News reported on Saturday.

Mariam Ghani stepped out with a female friend in Brooklyn this week, just days after her father abandoned his country and fled to the UAE.

The 42-year old visual artist and filmmaker, who lives in a luxury co-op building in Clinton Hill, strolled along the sidewalk clutching her mask while chatting with her friend.

Cameras captured the daughter as her 72-year-old father resurfaced in the United Arab Emirates, where he has been granted asylum.

Ghani fled the country last week after the Taliban took over the country, including the capital Kabul. Later, he appeared in the United Arab Emirates where he was received on “humanitarian grounds,” according to the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

In response, his daughter refused to answer questions outside her apartment when media caught up to her. It’s unclear whether she has heard from her father since he fled or not.

In an Instagram post Monday — a day after the Taliban seized control —  Mariam said she was "angry and grieving and terribly afraid for family, friends & colleagues left behind in Afghanistan," adding "Working feverishly to do anything I can on their behalf."
