On Tuesday, the Egyptian president Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi checked on the health condition of actor Sherif El-Desouky who underwent surgery to get his leg amputated due to diabetes and Covid-19 complications.
The president also ordered an exceptional pension to be paid for the maven actor.
The actor's co-star Badria Tolba said that El-Desouky is recovering well after the surgery.

Tolba, who has been updating about her colleague's health on social media, shared the good news on her Facebook official page on Monday.
In her latest post, she said: "I just heard from the doctors, El-Desouky's doing good, my Friends. He's recovering well... Everything seems to be calmed down now."
Earlier Monday, renowned actress Badria Tolba revealed that her co-star El-Desouky’s leg had been amputated after undergoing surgery. she wrote: “Now Sherif el-Desouky is entering the operations room in an hour. Please pray for him.”
Later on, she wrote: “Out of the experience I lived with my father, it’s very hard for a man to wake up from anesthesia and find a part of his body amputated, especially his legs, may God help him.”
According to his personal physician, he was having issues with one of his legs, and he needed to get emergency surgery due to complications from diabetes.
After his graduation from the Technical school in Alexandria (1981), he joined the Ismail Yassin's Theatre in 1984, where he was first a narrator of several plays, before acting in dozens of dramatic, classical, and comedy plays on stage.
From the Yassin's Theatre, Yassin embarked on an illustrious film career. ELDesouky starred in tens of movies, plays, and TV series.
His first advanced breakthrough came with his role in the popular series '100 Wesh' in 2020.
The veteran actor is known for starring in shows such as Costume flowers (2012),
Touching the Shoulders (2019), Kingdom of Satan (2020), Metaphysics ( 2020)
'Be 100 wash' (2020) and 'ElEmara' (The Tower) (2020).
Desouky was the recipient of numerous awards and nominations for excellence throughout his successful career, including the (Best Actor in Cairo International Film Festival 2018), (bird theater in Vienna International Film Festival 2007), and (Best Actor Award in Egypt in 2012)
