Veteran Egyptian actor Mahmoud Masoud passed away early Thursday at the age of 68 due to circulatory collapse in one of the hospitals in Cairo.
The late actor was buried at his family's cemetery in Cairo, where the funeral prayer took place, amid the attendee of his family, and actor Mounir Makram.
A large number of celebrities and fans took to social media to express their condolences and mourn the late actor, including Mohamed Al-Adl.
Al-Adl mourned his death saying: "Masoud's departure was very sad news,".
In 2019, Masoud co-starred in his last artistic production in Yasmin Abdelaziz’s TV series “L'akher Nafas”.

Mahmoud Masoud, born on September 3, 1952, received his Bachelor’s degree from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1975.
Masoud worked at the El Taliaa Theater, after his graduation, and then starred in movies such as “Maganeeno," “Al-Motamarid” (The Rebel), “Al-Sharisa” (The Fierce), and “Hikaya To” (The Story of To).
The actor also starred in several TV series, including “Al-Liqa’ Al-Thani” (The Second Meeting), “Mughamarat Zakia Hanem” (The Adventures of Zakia Hanem), “Gomhorreya Zefta” (The Republic of Zefta), and “October Al-Akher” (The Other October).
Masoud presented more than 167 artistic works over the course of his career, which varied between television, cinematic, and theatrical productions, most notably were his role in the 1986 TV series “Alhabu wa'ashya' 'ukhraa” (Love And Other Things).
He is also famed for his roles in historical TV series, including " Justice in Islam", "Al'imam almaraghiu", and "Umm Kulthum,".
Masoud was known for his killing performances, whether in his roles as a good guy or as an evildoer.
Masoud had a daughter called Iman Masoud, who is also an actress. She starred in TV series "Shams El-Ansary", and "Hekayat Banat".
He opposed her desire to enter the showbiz, in refusal of her entering the profession and building a name using his fame, however, he left her the freedom and she joined the Higher Institute of dramatic Arts.
In 2016, Masoud suffered a sudden health crisis, upon which he was transferred to "Al Amal Wa Al Hayah" hospital in Mohandessin due to excessive smoking.
