Egyptian actor, Fayek Azab passed away Thursday morning at the age of 77, after a struggle with illness, Head of the Actors’ Syndicate, actor Ashraf Zaki announced.
Azab will be buried in his family cemetery in Ismailia after the dhuhr (noon) prayer.
The late actor had suffered many health problems over the last period, including his infection with the Marsa virus, and Coronavirus.
Before his death, Azab underwent an operation to expand the spinal cord after falling on his neck, which stopped the movement of his hand and leg. He had bacterial pneumonia in his chest following the operation.
The late actor was hospitalized for about 15 days and conducted many tests, including the Coronavirus, which came back as positive.
Azab was born in Ismailia in 1943 and was head of the acting team during his studies at Ibn Hazm Elementary School, then he moved to Cairo to continue his studies, where he joined the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University in 1960.
At the beginning of the seventies, the late actor became a prominent face in theater, cinema, and television, and starring in many artistic works, most notably "Weld Al Ghalaba", "Katibat El Edam", "Taitah Rahibah", "Wahed Men El Nas", "Ahlam Omrena", "Fe Mahatet masr", and others.
The late actor's last artistic work was the 2019 TV series "Weld Al Ghalaba", in which he appeared as a guest star.
