Activist Hossam Bahgat Faces Backlash on Social Media

Human Rights Activist Hossam Bahgat sparked widespread anger on social media platforms, after calling for the release of the martyrs' killers. 

Social media activists accused him of treason and conspiracy.

They also stressed that the Egyptian people would never give up the rights of the nation’s martyrs, calling on the state to take a decisive stance against this traitorous agent and conspirators like him.

It is worth mentioning that, Bahgat was an investigative journalist for Mada Masr.

He was arrested on 8 November 2015 and detained until 10 November 2015 for "publishing false news that harms national interests and disseminating information that disturbs public peace".
