The Administrative Control Authority (ACA) managed to arrest corrupt officials over embezzlement and bribery charges as part of its efforts to pursue those who exercise misappropriation of public funds.

The ACA arrested the general managers and production heads of the South Cairo and Giza Flour Mills and Bakeries (SCFM) as well as the former head of the mill's sector of the company, and the secretary of the "Al-Ahd Al-Jadeed" Silo for the embezzlement of 128 tons of wheat.

The Authority stated that the others facilitated the theft by fabricating forged documents, through which they proved the fake supply of such quantities from one of the silos.

The Authority also managed to arrest the owner of one of the companies, supplying raw materials to the Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute (EPRI), for offering EGP 250 thousand to an assistant professor researcher at the Institute, in return for facilitating the company to receive its EGP 11 million dues from the Institute.

The culprit also asked the researcher to allow the release of 30 tons of violating chemicals, worth EGP 2 million, previously supplied by the company.

In the same context, the ACA arrested a teller at the branch of drinking water and sanitation at Abu El-Nomrus in Giza governorate for embezzling the amount of EGP 500 thousand pounds of his custody and failing to prove its supply to the company.
