Abu Zeid: Egypt Exerting Every Effort to Ensure Immediate Access of Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

Foreign Ministry official spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid explained that Egypt is making every effort through intensive diplomatic contacts at all levels, in order to ensure the immediate and sustainable access of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Egypt's efforts came out of its belief that the tragic humanitarian situation suffered by residents of the Strip cannot continue, in light of the ongoing Israeli bombing and imposed siege.

This came in response to an inquiry from a number of diplomatic editors regarding the efforts made by Egypt to deal with the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

Moreover, Abu Zeid stressed that this is the priority that Egypt is focusing on at the present time, and that the Israeli side must show the required cooperation and understanding in this regard.
