Mohamed Abu El-Enein, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean and Deputy Speaker of Egypt's House of Representatives, asserted that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has presented a practical approach to promoting peace in the region and the Middle East.
This came during the meeting of the Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean, held in Sharm El-Sheikh from September 11 to 14, with the participation of Counselor Dr. Hanafy Gebaly, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Counselor Ahmed Manaa, Secretary-General of the House of Representatives.
Abu El-Enein cited the statements of President El-Sisi, who stressed that peace cannot be born out of bombardment, nor imposed by force, nor achieved through normalization rejected by peoples.
He underscored that peace must be based on justice and fairness.
He added that the continuation of war and occupation will not lead to peace but rather fuel the cycle of violence and open the door to retaliation and resistance.
“Enough violence, occupation, displacement, and expulsion,” the president’s words declared.
Abu El-Enein commented, “These words serve as a lesson and outline a practical approach to achieving peace. Peace must be realized as the foundation for the desired economic cooperation.”
