Abu El Enein Lauds Egypt’s Parl't Speaker Hanafy Gebaly

Mohamed Abu El-Enein, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (PA-UfM) and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, has welcomed Parliament Speaker Hanafy Gebaly, during their participation at assembly’s bureau meeting, in held Sharm El-Sheikh from September 11 to 14.

He heaped praises on Gebaly and stressed that the Speaker represents a prominent constitutional figure, acknowledged by all, and that he is a legal and intellectual encyclopedia, offering his expertise to the world.

Abu El-Enein highlighted Gabali's significant legislative achievements, including a record 380 laws passed during his second legislative term, addressing key criminal, economic, and political issues, positioning Egypt’s parliament as a strong player internationally.

He focused on the Middle East crisis, particularly the Palestinian situation, describing daily setbacks faced by an unarmed civilian population enduring violence and forced displacement. 

“We are at a crossroads. It is time to end Israeli arrogance, stop the violence, and return to negotiations,” Abu El-Enein said.

The Egyptian lawmaker noted the lack of sincere intentions for peace, citing ongoing killing, humiliation, expulsions, and land seizures in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and elsewhere. He warned:“Any disruptions to the peace process, he warned, will lead to its collapse.”
