Cairo University organized a celebration to mark the International Volunteer Day, in cooperation with the National Alliance for Civil and Development Work, with the participation of the Abou El Enein Foundation for Cultural and Social Work, alongside a number of civil society organizations.
The event was attended by a distinguished group of leaders, public figures, and volunteers.
Furthermore, the celebration witnessed the presence of Ambassador Nabila Makram; Somaya Abou El Enein, Vice Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Abou Al-Enein Foundation; representatives of the National Alliance and its affiliated institutions; leaders of civil and community work; senior officials from Cairo University; the Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina; as well as wide participation from young volunteers.
The event highlighted the efforts of the National Alliance for Civil and Development Work, which was established with the support and guidance of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The Alliance aims to unify the efforts of civil society institutions, maximize their developmental impact, and ensure that services reach the most vulnerable and deserving groups.
In addition, the celebration also reviewed the role of the Abou Al-Enein Foundation, chaired by MP Mohamed Abou El Enein, in the fields of social support, education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, and support for persons with disabilities, within the framework of national initiatives implemented by the National Alliance.
Activities included the screening of a documentary film showcasing volunteer efforts, a panel discussion on inspiring volunteer experiences, and an open sports day with the participation of volunteers to promote teamwork and collective spirit.
The celebration concluded with the signing of an Ethical Charter for Volunteering, reaffirming commitment to the values of institutional work, social responsibility, and sustainable community development.
