The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, welcomed the visits carried out by leaders of Arab countries to several Gulf capitals in recent days and hours, describing them as a reflection of full Arab solidarity at the highest levels with countries subjected to Iranian attacks targeting civilian and security facilities.

In a statement released today , Aboul Gheit said the visits undertaken by Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and King Abdullah II represent a consolidation of the unified Arab stance rejecting these hostile attacks in their clearest form and meaning, particularly at the highest political levels.

Official spokesman Jamal Rushdi quoted the Secretary-General as affirming that Arab national security is indivisible and that Arab solidarity in confronting reckless Iranian attacks — along with continuous coordination and consultation among Arab states at all levels — reflects a unified position rejecting any justification for such attacks that have targeted infrastructure, civilian facilities, and civilian populations.

Aboul Gheit called on Iran to immediately halt attacks against neighboring countries and to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, which was adopted by 13 countries, urging Tehran to refrain from any provocative or destructive acts or threats directed at any Arab member state of the League. He reaffirmed the inherent right of states to self-defense, individually or collectively, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.

He further warned that the continued Iranian approach in this aggressive policy toward neighboring Arab countries would undoubtedly have long-term repercussions on future relations between Arab states and Iran.
