Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, welcomed the announcement of a new Yemeni government on Monday, praising the political parties’ commitment to "close ranks" during a critical period for the region.
The new cabinet, formed by Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, is headed by Prime Minister Dr. Shaea Mohsen Al-Zandani.
League spokesperson Gamal Roshdy stated that the formation is a "necessary step" to strengthen state institutions, improve public services, and drive economic reforms. Roshdy specifically highlighted the inclusion of women and youth in ministerial portfolios as a reflection of political will toward social diversity.
Aboul Gheit reaffirmed the League’s support for Yemen’s sovereignty and unity, emphasizing the need for non-interference in its internal affairs while pledging continued efforts to alleviate the country’s humanitarian crisis.
