Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit participated Monday in the inauguration of the seventh Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) Forum, focused on regional sustainability.
The forum, themed "The Arab Think Tanks Cluster for Sustainability and Development," is organized by Derasat in cooperation with the League of Arab States.
During the event, Aboul Gheit delivered a speech emphasizing that the gathering is a "milestone" for empowering Arab think tanks to support decision-makers in formulating development plans.
The ceremony also featured the launch of a documentary book titled "Bahrain and the League of Arab States," which chronicles the kingdom’s diplomatic contributions since joining the League in 1971.
The forum continues Tuesday with scheduled remarks from Assistant Secretary-General Hossam Zaki and Derasat CEO Abdullah Mohammed Al Ahmad regarding research partnerships.
