The League of Arab States will host a seminar on October 7 to mark the launch of seven translated editions of Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit’s two books, “Witness to War and Peace” and “My Testimony.”
Organized in cooperation with Nahdet Misr Publishing House, the event will be held at the League’s headquarters in Cairo and will celebrate the translation of both books into English, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Italian, and Romanian.
The seminar will feature remarks by Aboul Gheit, who will reflect on his diplomatic career spanning more than five decades. The gathering will bring together diplomats, academics, intellectuals, and journalists.
“Witness to War and Peace” recounts key moments in the Arab-Israeli conflict, many of which Aboul Gheit experienced firsthand as a diplomat. The event coincides with the anniversary of Egypt’s October War victory.
His second book, “My Testimony,” offers an insider’s view of diplomacy during his tenure as Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2004 to 2011, a defining period in Egypt’s and the region’s modern history
