Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, arrived in New Delhi on Thursday for his first official visit to India, marking a significant step in strengthening ties between the Arab world and the South Asian power.
Invited by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Aboul Gheit is scheduled to participate in the second ministerial meeting of the Arab-Indian Cooperation Forum on January 31. The visit includes high-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to discuss regional issues and mutual interests.
Key highlights of the trip include the inauguration of the Arab-Indian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, aimed at boosting bilateral trade and investment. Additionally, Aboul Gheit will address a seminar at the Indian Council of World Affairs concerning the evolving global landscape and its impact on the Arab region.
